A Matter of Balance® In-person – Community Workshop

PCOA Healthy Living workshops are nationally recognized, evidence-based programs designed to be led by volunteers. PCOA provides volunteer training, ongoing guidance and all workshop supplies. You share: √ Good communication and interpersonal skills √ Comfort with public speaking in small groups (10-15) of older adults √ Good listening skills √ Ability to present the program exactly as instructed √ Enthusiasm and commitment to the respective program √ Ability to participate in leader training (4 days Healthy Living; 2 days A Matter of Balance) √ Ability to facilitate two workshops (6 sessions of 2.5 hours for Healthy Living or 8 sessions of 2 hours for A Matter of Balance) √ The ability to lead low to moderate-level exercises

A Matter of Balance® is a workshop designed to reduce the fear of falling and help participants learn to view falls as controllable, set goals for increasing activity and make changes to reduce fall risks at home. It includes 8 two-hour sessions for 10-15 participants and is led by trained coaches. “Excellent class! Makes you feel you are not alone.
