PERSON SPECIFICATION QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIPS Essential: • Professionally qualified with a relevant degree/ postgraduate qualification plus broad demonstrable experience in similar or related roles. • Or: Significant vocational experience, demonstrating development through involvement in a series of
progressively more demanding relevant work/roles, and supported by evidence of significant appropriate specialist knowledge. Desirable: • Membership of a professional body such as BIFM TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES Essential: • Understanding of BMS, experienced with Trend Building Management Systems, including the latest Vison product. • High level of fault finding and diagnostic skills for mechanical services. • High level of understanding of operational mechanical systems strategy. • High level of competence to be able to implement recommissioning of mechanical systems. • Have a theoretical and operational understanding of heating systems, air conditioning and HVAC systems • Understanding of other engineering services and building design not covered in their primary discipline such as electrical services or controls • Experience of budget management and meeting financial objectives across a range of demanding priorities • A good understanding of software packages to help collate, analyse and record information to enable an evidence base for action and results Desirable: • Good level of hand tool competence • IOSH General Certificate in H&S or equivalent SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: • Support of an out of hour’s rota. • Must be able to drive and hold a current full EU license or equivalent permanent licence CORE COMPETENCIES Communication Adaptability / Flexibility Customer/Client service and support Planning and Organising Continuous Improvement Problem Solving and Decision-Making Skills Managing and Developing Performance Creative and Analytical Thinking Influencing, Persuasion and Negotiation Skills Strategic Thinking & Leadership
