Foundation Degree in Payroll Management Best work-based project award 2022

Awarded to: Jekaterina Minalta

Tutor: Ros Hendren

The student work-based project is based on real life issues faced by their organisations and is probably the biggest piece of written work the students have ever done. It’s designed to challenge them. The project requires a great deal of academic research, studying, time and determination to manage that task, and to achieve an A+.

The winner of this award invested a huge amount of effort into this project, to reach conclusions and recommendations that are based on solid evidence from the research, and which will clearly benefit the payroll

operational team, as well as the service received by their clients. This student accessed an incredible amount of secondary research, ensuring that they were able to put forth comparable and opposing views, clearly indicating objective research to support the aims and objectives of the project. Their discussions were clear and concise, showing a mature approach to this task, presenting different aspects of the debate, with good application of best practice, and excellent summaries. Lastly, this student’s conclusions were comprehensive, providing a solid foundation from which to present their recommendations, which were completely representative of the research and analysis they had so excellently pulled together in this report.

This student should be very proud of their achievement with this project, their organisation will surely benefit from having this employee as an asset within their business, and from optimising their success by implementing the recommendations of this project.

“Winning this award is a very proud moment for me. I’m pleased my hard work was recognised. I’m truly thankful to my tutor, Ros for challenging me to be my best and instilling a passion in me for writing a proper project and nominating me for this award.

“I’d like to thank all my colleagues at Access SME Payroll Bureau who I approached for help during my research, but especially Michelle Chapman and David O’Meara for their endless support and encouragement. I’d like to thank my husband and two sons for their support. There were many long nights juggling work, family and school, but I’m happy to finally be done. It’s been tough but it’s all worthwhile. Without my family and colleagues, such achievements wouldn’t be possible, and I share this award with them.” Jekaterina Minalta

Foundation Degree in Payroll Management Student of the year award 2022

Awarded to: Aurelia-Georgeta Adochiei

Tutor: Alister Baldwin

For the Foundation Degree in Payroll Management student of the year award, tutors are asked to nominate one of their students whom, in their opinion, warrant the award. The student doesn’t have to be a straight A grade student, but they might have overcome work or personal issues to continue their studies. It was a great privilege for the Nomination Committee to read the nominations and they were simultaneously enlightened and humbled by each one. They have no doubt in their minds that each nominated person will go on to great things and will exceed even their own expectations.

This student persevered when they felt like they couldn’t continue with their studies. With English being their second language, they sometimes found it difficult to write assignments. In year three, they reached out to their tutor as they didn’t feel they had the skills to complete Level 5. With some words of encouragement from their tutor, this student continued with their studies, passing every module first time, and completing their Foundation Degree. “It’s such an honour to win the Foundation Degree in Payroll Management student of the year 2022 award. One year ago in November, I was close to giving up studies, but the encouraging words of my amazing tutor, Alister have had a positive impact on me. So, I continued into year three and now it feels so satisfying to have a Foundation Degree with the CIPP.” Aurelia-Georgeta Adochiei
