Printing Industries Alliance (PIA) held a Post Drupa Report in New York City on Thursday,August 18.The event, held at the Club 101 in Manhattan, had an au- dience of more than 100 end users including print- ers, mailers and graphic arts service providers. The full line-up of drupa exhibitors who gave presenta- tions included: HP, Canon, GMG, Xerox, Muller Marti- ni, Konica Minolta, Highcon, Landa Digital Printing, Xeikon and Scodix. The Post Drupa Event had five panels on the follow- ing topics: • Who’s On First? Offset vs. Digital vs. Inkjet vs. Nanography • The Rapid Rise and Importance of Labels and Packaging and Importance of Color Management • Post Press Takes the Lead •Wide Format Breaks Into the Big Time • Observations First Hand from Drupa Attendees. Trade Associations Partner With Pack Expo The Partner Program will return to Pack Expo Inter- national and Pharma Expo 2016, being held Novem- ber 6–9, McCormick Place, Chicago, welcoming 31 associations and 11 international pavilion organizers committed to better serving their members and sup- porting the processing and packaging industries. There are currently 27 associations that will partner with Pack Expo International 2016, four Pharma Expo partner associations, and 11 International Pavil- ion Organizers. PACK EXPO International and Pharma EXPO 2016 have over 1.2 million net square feet of exhibit space, and are expected to attract 50,000 packaging and pro- cessing professionals and 2,300-plus exhibitors. Packaging Corp. Completes TimBar Acquisition Packaging Corporation of America (PCA), Lake For- est, Illinois, has completed its acquisition of TimBar Corporation, a large independent corrugated prod- ucts producer, in a cash-free, debt-free transaction. Funding for the acquisition came from a new $385 million five-year term loan facility. PCA is reportedly the fourth largest producer of containerboard and corrugated packaging products in the United States and the third largest producer of uncoated free sheet paper in North America. PCA op- erates eight mills and 95 corrugated products plants and related facilities.
