This unique approach detoxifies, oxygenates, and rejuvenates the blood while delivering photobiological stimulation to the immune and circulatory systems. The result is a therapy that activates healing at the cellular level—enhancing mitochondrial function, reducing inflammation, eliminating pathogens, and supporting immune resilience. EBOO Full Spectrum UV at Longevity Medical Institute is a high-volume, closed-loop blood treatment capable of processing up to 3.5 liters of blood (nearly 2/3 of the blood in your body) per session—far exceeding the reach of traditional ozone IV therapy. Our treatment platform is optimized for clinical precision, patient safety, and maximum therapeutic yield. What Makes TriFusion at LMI Unique

How the Treatment Works

Blood Extraction (Catheter to Pump) Step 1:

A sterile, closed-loop circuit is established by inserting two intravenous (IV) catheters—one in each arm.

Blood Enters EBOO Filter Step 2:

The patient’s blood flows through a specialized EBOO filter, which acts similarly to a dialysis membrane.

This step removes toxic byproducts, excess cytokines, cellular debris, lipid peroxides, and other inflammatory mediators while preserving beneficial components of the blood.

Ozonation (O Infusion) Step 3:

Medical-grade ozone (a gas composed of three oxygen atoms) is carefully infused into the extracorporeal blood in controlled concentrations.

Ozone interacts with blood components to:

Break down pathogens (bacteria, viruses, fungi). Enhance red blood cell flexibility and oxygen-releasing capacity. Activate antioxidant defenses by stimulating Nrf2 pathways. Trigger immune modulation through mild oxidative signaling.

Ozonated Blood Leaves EBOO Filter Step 4:

Ultraviolet (UV) Irradiation Step 5:

The ozonated and oxygenated blood then passes through a UV light chamber, typically utilizing UV-A and UV-C wavelengths.

UV exposure helps:

Destroy pathogens Enhance immune recognition of abnormal or infected cells.

Oxidize toxins and activate white blood cells for enhanced systemic immune response. Improve microcirculation and reduce hypercoagulability.

LED Light Therapy (Photobiomodulation) Step 6:

After UV treatment, the blood is exposed to LED lights emitting specific wavelengths (e.g., red, blue, green, and infrared).

This step promotes:

Mitochondrial activation in white and red blood cells (via cytochrome c oxidase stimulation). Reduction in oxidative stress and inflammation. Vascular relaxation and improved nitric oxide (NO) signaling. Photobiomodulation benefits at the cellular level, supporting regeneration and detoxification.

Return of Purified, Bioactivated Blood Step 7:

The treated blood, now enriched with oxygen, modulated by ozone, and energized by light, is reinfused into the patient’s body through the second IV line.

This process typically takes 45–60 minutes per session.

Systemic Effects and Integration Step 8:

Once reinfused, the blood begins exerting systemic effects:

Improved oxygen delivery to tissues. Decreased inflammation and pain. Immune balancing (downregulating autoimmunity or upregulating suppression of infections). Enhanced detoxification capacity at the liver and cellular levels. Mitochondrial support and rejuvenation, which may assist in chronic fatigue, infections, vascular issues, and neurodegeneration.

Therapeutic Technology and Mechanism of Action

01 Extracorporeal Blood Oxygenation and Ozonation (EBOO)

EBOO draws up to 3.5 liters of blood —up to two-thirds of total blood volume—and runs it through a closed-loop dialysis filter system, where a controlled blend of medical-grade ozone and oxygen is infused. The blood is returned to the patient in real-time, making this an active, continuous system. Unlike traditional ozone IV methods (MAH, 10-pass), EBOO offers greater volume treatment with enhanced detox, oxygenation, and immune modulation benefits.

The Role of the Filter in EBOO The filter used in EBOO therapy is a high-permeability hollow-fiber membrane, similar to those used in dialysis. Its function is critical for safe and effective ozone delivery:

Allows ozone and oxygen gases to interact with blood across a semipermeable membrane without introducing gas bubbles. Diffusion Surface:

Gases flow in the opposite direction of the blood to maximize exchange efficiency. Cross-Current Flow:

Converts ozone into dissolved forms (ozonides), avoiding gas embolism and enabling direct immune and antioxidant stimulation. Safety:

Large surface area supports high blood volume treatment in a relatively short session. Enhanced Exposure:

This filter technology is what distinguishes EBOO from standard ozone therapies—it allows your blood to be treated safely and thoroughly in one session.

Mechanisms of Ozone

Triggers hormetic oxidative stress that activates Nrf2, a transcription factor that boosts antioxidant defenses and detoxification pathways.

Modulates immune signaling through lipid ozonation products (LOPs) and indirect stimulation of cytokines.

Enhances mitochondrial function, leading to better ATP production.

Kills microbes in the extracorporeal loop through direct oxidation.

02 Ultraviolet Blood Irradiation (UVBI)

Following ozonation, the blood passes through a chamber exposed to full-spectrum UV light—UVA, UVB, and UVC, plus visible LED light frequencies.

Mechanisms of UV Light

Direct inactivation of microbes via DNA/RNA disruption (especially UVC).

Induces hormetic response that boosts antioxidant enzymes.

03

Modulates immune function through toll-like receptor activation and nitric oxide (NO) upregulation.

Photobiomodulation stimulates tissue repair and inflammation resolution.

04

Visible Light LED Benefits

Full-spectrum LED strips stimulate additional photobiological effects:

Red and infrared: Enhance mitochondrial health and circulation Blue and violet: Antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties Green and yellow: Skin and tissue rejuvenation
