In 1988, when the Global Polio Eradication Initiative began, polio paralyzed more than 1000 children worldwide every day. The Gates Foundation is currently matching all Rotarian raised polio donations $2 for each $1 contribution (up to $35 million yearly). Our Rotary-wide 2016-17 Rotary year polio fundraising goal is $45 million + the Gates Foundation match. Our goal is Global Polio Eradication! Polio Plus: Zero is the magic number! Rotary Club of Rowlett Paddle Creek Point Cleanup Event An event we do five times annually. We adopted a area in Rowlett to support 'Keep Rowlett Beautiful'. This includes the park, lake shoreline, wooded area, and the adjacent railroad track section.
