Have you heard of fast furniture? Like fast fashion, it’s low cost, imported, sometimes not fit for commercial use and has a short life span. Manufacturing conditions and employee conditions may not be up to Australian standards.Typically, they have low quality fabrics that wear quickly, weak frames and low cost, soft foam. Essentially, they have a short life and end up in landfill. There are other hidden risks in purchasing fast furniture - unfit for purpose. This means, they may not be built to withstand heavy commercial Library environments. For example, injuries can occur which may render a library responsible and liable.

Our furniture features quality components throughout the manufacturing process. We use high density foam that retains its shape. Our fabrics are rated heavy commercial, with a minimum 50,000 martindale rubs for longer wear and durability. Indeed, one of our Area Managers, during a recent customer call, identified a Raeco Ottoman over 20 years old, which still looks very presentable and is still in use. That’s a sustainable choice.
