Inducted into Pro Football Hall of Fame on Aug. 5, 2006…Assistant coach with Allan Hancock College, 1960-61; head coach with Allan Hancock College, 1962-63; assistant coach with San Diego State, 1964-66; assistant coach with The Oakland Raiders, 1967- 68; head coach with the Raiders, 1969-78…Regular season record: 103-32-7... Postseason record: 9-7...Overall record: 112-39-7...His .759 winning percentage during regular season ranks highest among coaches with 100 career victories...Youngest head coach in AFL when Raiders hired him in 1969 at age 32...AFL Coach of the Year in 1969 after leading Raiders to 12-1-1 record and AFL Western Division title... Under Madden, Oakland never suffered losing record...Led Raiders to Super Bowl XI victory…Team won 17 straight games between 1976- 77 seasons, one short of NFL record at the time....After retiring as head coach, continued with Raiders handling Special Projects through 1987…Leading pro football analyst for NBC, ABC’s “Monday Night Football,” Fox and CBS…Retired from broadcasting in 2008.
