Associate Head Coach/ College/Pro Team Prior to ASU, Pierce spent four seasons as the head coach of the Long Beach Poly High School football program following a nine-year career in the NFL. PERSONAL: A native of Long Beach, Calif., Pierce played collegiately for two seasons at Arizona after transferring from Mount San Antonio College… Played in 23 games and totaled 152 tackles, 20 tackles for loss and seven sacks…Entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent by the Washington Redskins and played four seasons with the club before signing with the New York Giants as an unrestricted free agent in 2005…Over his nine-year career, played in 115 games with 85 starts, totaling 732 tackles (462 solo), eight sacks, seven interceptions, eight forced fumbles and 11 fumble recoveries… He was named to his first Pro Bowl in 2006 and was a member of the Giants Super Bowl XLII championship team in 2007.

Antonio Pierce enters his first season as linebackers coach for the Las Vegas Raiders, bringing with him nine years of NFL playing experience. Pierce most recently spent the past five seasons at Arizona State, serving as linebackers coach before adding the titles of associate head coach and defensive coordinator. In 2021, Pierce was promoted to defensive coordinator and helped the Sun Devils’ defense rank first in the PAC-12 in scoring defense (20.8), first in total yards allowed per game (326.3), tied for first in defensive touchdowns (three), second in interceptions (16) and second in sacks (27). Pierce saw three members of his defense earn Pac-12 honors with DL Tyler Johnson being named first-team All-Pac-12, while DL D.J. Davidson and LB Darien Butler were both named to the second-team defense. In 2020, the Sun Devils ranked first in the PAC-12 in scoring defense (23.3) and first in turnover margin (+8). Pierce helped mentor Johnson and CB Chase Lucas to second-team All-Pac-12 honors, while DL Jermayne Lole, LB Kyle Soelle and CB Evan Fields earned conference honorable mention recognition. In 2019, Pierce led a linebacker group that helped the Sun Devils rank third in the Pac-12 in rushing defense (125.1) and second in turnover margin (+14). He helped guide LB Darien Butler to a career season finishing 11th in the Pac- 12 with 90 total tackles and tied for second with three forced fumbles. He also saw LB Khaylan Kearse-Thomas earn All-Pac-12 honorable mention after recording 57 tackles, including a team-high 11 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks. In 2018, Pierce lead a young linebacking core that saw LB Merlin Robertson earn Pac-12 Freshman Defensive Player of the Year honors after recording 77 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, five sacks and one interception.
