RTX Traveler Magazine | Issue 20 | Park City, Utah

FROM THE EDITOR

RTX Traveler: Letter from the Editor By the time you’re reading this, the massive amounts of snow featured in this issue may seem like a distant memory, or a hazy dream of some kind of winter wonderland. Maybe you’re enjoying a beach view right now, or loving the lush greenery and

outdoor adventures of a four-season ski destination. Regardless of where you are at this moment, be assured that Park City’s slopes will be welcoming visitors once again come mid-November, so you have plenty of time to plan your Park City ski vacation. Not into snow sports?

We also have an award to celebrate – RTX Traveler Magazine has received the Best Print Media award from Perspective Magazine for the second year in a row! The award was presented at the GNEX industry conference in February 2018, and we were up against some strong competition. On behalf of the magazine staff (all three of us!), we’d like to thank the leadership at RTX for their support and guidance in helping us grow this publication and making it the best that we can for you, our members. We hope that you enjoy this 20th issue of RTX Traveler Magazine, and we want to send you on vacation soon!

When putting this issue together, we found several RTX destinations that have things in common with Park City. Of course, we have destinations made famous for their winter attractions and activities. There are also places that have hosted the Olympics where you can either exchange or book through your discounted hotel stay options with RTX. Film buffs will love the destinations we found with fun cinema-centric events, and the spots we found with charming downtowns will have you ready to pack your bags. From our home offices, we’re excited to feature some of the fundraising and community involvement our employees have participated in over the last few months. We are extremely proud to have so many employees who give their time and efforts to help out those less fortunate in our community.

No problem! Park City’s i d y l l i c downtown offers plenty beyond the slopes. If you prefer watching sports rather than participating, the city is teeming with Olympic related attractions and events – check out page 12 for a look at one of the events that you might stumble across during your visit. Prefer the après ski scene? The easily walkable town has dining, shopping, museums, art galleries and so much more. Ever heard of a little film festival called Sundance? Yep, that happens here, and the festival’s wide reach and influence means you might spot a celebrity or two any time of year here.
