about his getting hurt. When he wouldn’t get home as soon as I ex pected, I would persistently declare nothing could happen to him unless the Lord permitted it. And, although be took several spills, he never seemed to show any evidence of getting hurt. He hadn’t had the motorcycle long be fore it refused to go, and after re peated attempts to fix it, and failing to make it go, he said, “ Mother, I thought you said it was the Lord’s will for me to have that motorcycle." I bought my windows and doors sec ond-hand, and, although I asked no favors, I would pray while they were considering what to charge me, and they would put the price way down. Then I became anxious as to how the house was going to look, but I asked the Lord to make me like it whether any one else did or not. I have always liked that house, and it cost me a few cents less than the two hundred dol lars! Two years later I finished it, and have since added to it, until I have

(Continued from July number). PART II

In Part I the writer told of trials and temptations which came to her because of her desire to live close to the Lord and at the same time be loyal to a worldly-minded husband. At one time, through desire to please him. she com promised her convictions and lost the joy of her Christian experience. At last, though sorrowing that it was necessary, she stepped out into a lonely but vic torious life of faith.

|HEN I began to look to tbe Lord for a plan and the money to build, I had no idea as to cost, but thought I

replied, “ I believe it is.” To which he said, "Then why do I have so much troubleT” Finally, he decided he would try once more to fix it.. I felt it very important that he should succeed, as I might lose my reputation for know ing how to get the will of the Lord, so I said, "Lord, if you ever fixed a motorcycle, fix this one now,” and He so helped him that he had no further trouble. He said afterwards he l e a r n e d so much about motorcycles in fixing that one that he felt repaid for all his troubles. In Partnership With God How often God touched my body. One time I came home from the schoolhouse in the rain, through— oh, such mud! I found both cows had pulled

would a8k Him for two hun dred dollars. I would be satis fied with the shell of a house for awhile, and 1 thought maybe that would make it. I drew a plan of a California house, three rooms down and two up. Two or three carpen ters looked at my plan and did not approve of it, but I had no desire to change it. Then a . carpenter wanted one hun dred and twenty-five dollars for labor, and I was wonder ing what to do, when a friend and her husband drove up. I explained my difficulty, and he volunteered to get his car penter and help build it, the work to cost only fifty dollars. So the day was set to tear down the little place. I was almost sick with a cold, so that I couldn’t speak aloud, and for a few moments I

their stakes, and I had to go some dis tance to attend to them. I drove the pegs well down, went back home, and got the mud cleaned off of my rubber boots. It was then nearly ten o’clock, and I had my milk dishes to do; I happened to look down the road, and those cows were loose. So again, on had to go the rubber boots, and again I had to stake the cows. By the time I got home I was tired out, and I had a washing, besides my other work, to do. As I had no one there to feel sorry for me, I said to the Lord, “ I am so tired.” I just wanted sympathy, but He gave me something b e t t e r . Strength came into my body and joy into my soul, and I did praise Him for His presence. Later, I had an oppor tunity to sell all the milk a fresh cow

a house of eight rooms, so arranged as to rent to two families. My Son’s Experiences The second year found me out of debt, as I got the janitor work of a small schoolhouse in answer to prayer. I was the only one putting in an ap plication, and I said to the Lord, but mentioned it to no one else, that I would like fifteen dollars a month. They were only paying ten dollars. When they notified me of my appoint ment they said, "We thought you should have fifteen dollars.” Some years later my son wanted a motorcycle, and as we prayed about it, I felt it was all right fdr him to have it. but I certainly would have to trust the Lord to keep me from worrying

wished I might have time to get well before beginning the work,' but it wasn’t faith to phone for the carpenter not to come, so I decided to trust Qod and go ahead. I had to cook for four of us in the tent, and eat in the shade of another building, but I didn’t take any more cold. I steadily* got well, and helped, besides, to entertain a missionary friend. I had to take the long walk to the car line, and as it was in July, I would get very warm walking, then cool off quickly on the street car riding to town, but I did not take cold. Nothing seemed to hurt me. As the building went op it seemed it would surely run over the $200.00, but I would ask the Lord to keep it from exceeding that amount, and it was wonderful how God helped.
