Come play in the clay! This two-part adventure to explores the art of pottery -- from hand building their own work of art or throwing pottery on the pottery wheel. In the first session, Girls will craft their masterpiece. In the second session, Girls will glaze their art and have their pieces refired. A pottery piece isn’t completed until it’s decorated. Explore the different techniques of ceramic painting and glazing. Girls will select from a variety of different ceramic pieces, including Girl Scout-themed pieces, and then put the techniques they learned into action. Looking for a more challenging art project? Glass fusing is a unique way for girls to express their creativity. Girls will learn how to cut-glass shapes and attach them to create their very own necklace pendants, ornament, or something completely unique to them. Design and create your own jewelry! Girls will learn the art of enameling and how to work with powered glass and high heat to create a necklace pendant or pair of earrings that is as unique as them.
