Girls will explore sewing with a sewing machine and will make a lined tote bag with quilting-weight cotton fabric and cotton webbing for the straps. Juniors will learn the basics of using a sewing machine, pinning and cutting fabric. All materials provided. Art & Design Badge included for Juniors, a patch for Cadettes and Seniors. This is a 2 ½ hour, $35 per Girl Scout workshop. Girl Scouts will explore sewing using upcycled materials. They will upcycle a reusable tote bag, personalize it and turn it into a sit-upon. A sit-upon is a water-repellant cushion that girl scouts can use when they go on camping trips. Completion of the Tag- along Tote Bag is required to advance to this class. All materials provided. This is a 2 ½ hour workshop at $35 per Girl Scout. Girl Scouts will explore sewing with a machine and will learn to put a zipper into a bag that they can carry a cell phone or personal items in. Prior sewing experience is recommended. All materials provided. This is a three hour workshop at $40 per Girl Scout.
