BikeWalk KC We will travel to troop meetings. Our service area is 20 miles from our Midtown KCMO office (1106 E 30th St Ste G, Kansas City, MO 64109). Additional mileage fees may be incurred if troops are outside this service area.

Description
Girls will learn how to conduct a walkability study and explore the impact the environment has on biking and walking. Girls will learn how to start their very own walking club including how to map a route, pedestrian safety, and how to get buy-in and support from others. Girls will enjoy a bike tour that will incorporate bike safety and physical activity to create a memorable experience for all. BikeWalkKC will provide bikes, helmets, and instructors. Length : 1 ½ to 2 hours. We cannot host this event on Saturdays or Sundays. Weekdays and afternoons/evenings are preferred. Families and troop leaders can also attend if they like. We may not have enough equipment for all troops and additional attendees, so they are welcome to bring their own equipment (bikes and helmets) in working condition. We can also give families and participants tips on learning how to ride if needed. Length : 1 ½ to 2 hours. We cannot host this event on Saturdays or Sundays. Weekdays and afternoons/evenings are preferred. Don’t be left stranded! Girls will learn through hands-on practice, how to maintain their bike including how to remove a wheel, fix a flat and keep their ride looking fresh and clean. Girls will learn how to safely navigate their communities on foot through guided walks to practice safe walking behaviors and identify key pedestrian infrastructure. Cost : $150 for full group. Girl Scout troop leaders and family members welcome to attend with Girl Scouts. Length : 1 ½ to 2 hours.
