When delving into the company’s carbon profile, the majority of their emissions were classified as Scope 3, which accounts for activities not owned or controlled by the company but caused by its value chain. Although this concern was raised regarding their production operations, the completed product showed a 20%+ improvement in fuel efficiency for end users, which will likely decrease overall Scope 3 emissions. As fuel efficiency is a top priority for end users with fuel being the second largest operating cost, the interests of both the company and end users are aligned to achieve lower emissions. 4.
