RITAM GRADA RHYTHM OF THE TOWN
TKV, KRALJICA GRAFTITA TKV, BELGRADE’S QUEEN OF GRAFFITI
Kada vas iza nekog ćoška, s oronulog zida ubistvenim pogledom dočeka Lusi Lu kao ratnica iz Tarantinovog kultnog filma Kill Bill ili vam sa sivog stuba Edgar Alan Po nabaci temu za razmišljanje; kada vam u sivilu pažnju privuče raskošni kolaž in- dijskih motiva ili vas misteriozna Japan- ka „pozove“ da skrenete u sledeću ulicu; kada pomislite da su priviđenje vile i sire- ne koje plešu po zidovima – shvatićete za- što je TKV (The Kraljica Vila) prva dama aktuelne beogradske street art scene. Iza tog pseudonima stoji umetnica Aleksan- dra Petković (28). Grafite je počela da radi u 16. Specifičan stil razvijala je uz znanje koje je sticala u Grafičkoj školi na smeru fotografije i kao studentkinja Fakulteta za medije i komunikaciju. Ono što je posebno izdvaja jeste neobičan, gotovo hipnotišući senzibilitet koji unosi u svako svoje delo, a kojim je „šarmirala“ i Barselonu, Amster- dam, Cirih... When you are awaited behind some corner, from a dilapidated wall by the murderous look of Lucy Liu as a warrior from Tarantino’s cult film Kill Bill, or from a grey pillar Edgar Allan Poe throws you something to think about; when your at- tention is attracted by some luxurious col- lage of Indian motifs, or a mysterious Jap- anese girl “invites” you to turn into the next street; when you think that visions of fairies and mermaids are dancing on the walls for you - you’ll understand why TKV (The Queen Fairy) is the first lady of Bel- grade’s contemporary street art scene. Be- hind that pseudonym is artist Aleksandra Petković (28). She started doing graffiti at the age of 16. She has developed her spe- cific style with the knowledge she gained at the Graphic School in the photography department and as a student at the Facul- ty of Media and Communications. What sets her apart in particular is the unusu- al, almost hypnotic sensibility that she brings to all of her work, and with which she also “charmed” Barcelona, Amster- dam andZurich.
