D. Ministry Reports Each Ministry Team Leader is responsible for submitting the electronic ministries recap form to the Ministries Department before 2:00 PM the day after the ministry takes place.
E. Absences and Excuses 1. For missed ministry assignments, see “Missing Required Activities” (p. 29, XII).
2. Approved Special Permissions do not excuse students from Ministry or Service Assignments. Students must be aware of their ministry schedule, which is made available at least two weeks in advance, and plan accordingly. 3. If a replacement is needed, approval must be made by the Ministries Department. 4. Any ministry absences without permission from the Ministries Department will be considered unexcused absences. F. Dress Code for Ministry Dress for ministry will be determined by ministry type and will be communicated in advance. Special dress at church functions or other ministries should be approved through the Ministries Department. G. Ministry Transportation 1. Word of Life approved drivers are responsible for the safety of the passengers and the vehicle pick-up and return. Due to insurance, only nine passengers can ride in a Word of Life van (not including the driver). Vans are to be parked in parking lot D. All vehicles are to be signed out from the Guest Services Desk during hours of operation. Vehicles should be returned, cleaned out, and parked in Lot D as soon as possible. Keys should be returned to the Guest Services Desk during business hours or the key drop box (at the Conference Center mail room) after hours. 2. You may drive a vehicle only if you have been approved and tested by the Ministries Department. Students do not drive personal vehicles to ministries without the permission of the Dean of Ministries. 3. Everyone in the vehicle must wear a seatbelt. H. Cancelled Ministries No student or Team Leader is authorized to cancel any ministry. Any and all cancellations will be run through the Ministries’ office. I. Ministry Behavior 1. Students are to be punctual at all times. 2. Students may listen to music while traveling ONLY. 3. Students are to be prepared to give their testimonies on a moment’s notice. The testimony should be written out in advance. 4. Students must follow the Bible Institute’s rules and regulations on their weekend ministry. Their conduct is to conform to Christian behavior as outlined in our Standard of Conduct. 5. After dark, girls should sit with girls and guys with guys. 6. Students are responsible for returning all unused literature to their Team Leader or his designated helper before leaving the ministry vehicle on their return trip. 7. Students are to be considerate of others at all times, and in particular when leaving and returning to their dorm. 8. Students are to stay with the group and participate in all activities. 9. Part of the student’s Christian Disciplines grade will come from their ministry participation.
