NEW! Introduction to Playwriting Playwriting is an ancient writing form dating back to the Greeks and Shakespeare. This class will look at playwriting from a modern perspective and how you can begin to shape your modern story idea into a play that can be presented on stage with actors. The class will use scenes from existing modern plays as examples of how you can convey your ideas in a way that can be appealing to the actors and directors who will ultimately make your writing come to life. NEW! The Art of Filmmaking Learn the basics of how to make a short film. Gain tips and techniques to take your short film idea to a script that can be filmed on a teenage budget and timeframe - maybe even using your cell phone! Discuss your goals and what you want to accomplish with your film. The class will be a fun and interactive introduction to making what will perhaps be your first short film-taught by award-winning filmmaker and screenwriter Don Thompson.
