Pontiac’s War, 1763-1766 LLI Following the French & Indian War, 1754-1763, an international coalition of Indian nations attempted to push British military presence and settlement back east of the Appalachians. Raids & attacks occurred from Michilimackinac to the Mohawk and Mississippi Rivers, several British forts were besieged and taken. The war witnessed the use of germ warfare, the mas- sacre of Indians in Lancaster, PA, and open rebellion against the British by settlers in the Cumberland Valley of Pennsylvania.
