RESPONSIBILITIES

The role of the Head of Estates is to strategically develop, plan and lead the estates, facilities and IT operations of ICMP, ensuring that a high quality, fit for purpose learning and working environment is available to support ICMP’s educational provision. This includes adherence to relevant statutory and legal obligations; oversight of institutional security and health and safety activities and plans; oversight of lease agreements; development of an environment and sustainability strategy; and leading on complex building and IT projects with responsibility for relevant CAPEX and operational budgets, while ensuring excellent customer service levels to both students and staff. As an internationally recognised small and specialist provider operating in the creative arts sector, the role holder will also be expected to work collectively with the wider management team ensure institutional goals and growth and development plans are properly planned, financed and achieved. The job holder will have strategic vision, commercial acumen, leadership expertise and the practical experience to lead, manage and enhance the estate and campus services, driving through the guiding principles of customer service, excellent student experience and value for money. The job holder will be a member of the Senior Management Team and Executive Committee and as such will also have direct input into and collective responsibility for wider business objectives and planning.

Principal Responsibilities The principal responsibilities of the Head of Estates include but are not necessarily limited to the following: • Development and implementation of our long-term Estates and IT strategies and plans. • Development and implementation of sustainability strategies and plans. • Development and oversight of relevant CAPEX and operational budgets and grants • Project managing and leading on the delivery of large and complex building and IT projects • Responsibility for space planning activities to ensure appropriate capacity is developed and maintained for course delivery and quality of provision. • Leadership, management and development of the Facilities and IT teams. • Develop and sustain a culture of outstanding performance and continuous service improvement through an engaging leadership and management style that delivers strong service outcomes. • Ensure effective structures and a coherent approach to governance is in place to secure compliance with all regulatory, statutory and legislative requirements, including compliance with HSA regulations, as well ICMP’s internal financial and governance arrangements. • Lead the management of risks associated with estate security and ensure the effective management and security of ICMP’s assets. • Oversee relevant asset management procedures ensuring assets are managed, logged, maintained, and recorded accurately with the impact of minimizing losses and maximizing useful lifetimes. • Oversee departmental procurement practices to ensure value for money • Maintain the highest standards of health and safety for all users of ICMP and ensure estates and facilities operations are compliant with health and safety regulations. • Oversee though the Facilities Operations Manager the appointment and/or management of relevant service providers and third-party contractors, ensuring all meet agreed SLAs and ensuring regular audits are carried out While establishing and maintaining effective professional relationships with all external partners and building effective external networks. • Oversee through the Facilities Operations Manager the development of the appropriate general maintenance and PPM practices and procedures • Drive the development and implementation of the highest service standards and the continual improvement of all processes within the department. • As part of the wider management team, ensure that the Department engage with and contribute to other activities such as Open Days, Graduation ceremonies, and other student- or community-related activities as required. • Adhere to and be committed to the implementation of ICMP’s Safeguarding policy and practices. • Complete other duties or projects commensurate with the role as assigned by the company from time to time.

Other committees as required from time to time.
