Jednostavno, volim da pojedem dobru supu još iz de- tinjstva, podseća me na maminu kuhinju. Omiljeno grčko jelo mi je suvlaki. Da li ste naučili ruski i grčki? – Ruski znam, mogu da se sporazumevam. Neke reči sam znao još iz Srbije jer su jezici slič- ni i brzo sam ušao u štos. Grčki sam takođe koristio dok sam bio u Olimpijakosu, ali sada sam ga malo zaboravio. Trebalo bi mi par dana da se vratim u formu, a se- ćam se, prvo sam na grčkom re- kao: „Ti kanis“ (kako si). Ko je po vama najbolji ko- šarkaš svih vremena i zašto? Jednom ste rekli da je Dra- žen Petrović bio bolji od svih. – Nema najboljeg, to je stvar ukusa. Cenim Dražena, bio je ve- liki, a za mene je veliki i Bodiro- ga. Neko drugi će reći neka dru- ga imena. Košarka je sport koji je proslavio mnoge, pa je zaista teš- ko reći deset imena najboljih, a ka- moli jednog. Šta je ono najvažnije što ste naučili od selektora Saše Đorđevića? Koji njegov savet pamtite? – Svi znaju kakav je Sale bio igrač i koliko je učinio za srpsku košarku. Svaki njegov savet je dra- gocen, ne umem da izdvojim je- dan. Naučio sam mnogo od sva- kog trenera sa kojim sam radio jer mi je svaki pokazao nešto novo. Radujem se takvom učenju jer će od mene napraviti boljeg igrača. Šta je tajna dobre asisten- cije? – Ne znam. Pregled igre, ru- tina, talenat. Mislim da za to tre- ba da pitate trenere ili neke struč- nije od mene. Ja ih samo izvodim, nisam razmišljao kako nastaju. Kod mene su prirodan proces. Serbia to show how beautiful my country is. You played in Greece for a long time and now you’re in Russia. How do you see tho- se two countries? What di- vides them and what conne- cts them? I lived in the warm Piraeus, by the sea, and now I’m in Moscow, where the winters are harsh. There is a great difference in the chara- cter of these two nations, but both countries are really beautiful and I recommend that everyone visit both Athens and Moscow. You mentioned Serbian bu- rek pie and mućkalica stew, but what are your favourite Greek and Russian dishes? My favourite Russian dish is borscht. You all know what it is; I don’t need to explain. Quite sim- ply, I’ve loved good soup since I was a child. It reminds me of my mother’s cooking. My favourite Greek dish is souvlaki. Did you learn to speak Ru- ssian and Greek? I know Russian and can hold a conversation. I knew some words from back in Serbia, because the languages are similar and I got to grips with it quickly. I also used Greek while I was at Olympiacos, but I’ve forgotten it a little now. It would take me a few days to get back on form, but I remember that the first thing I said in Greek was “Ti kanis?” (How are you?). In your opinion, who is the best basketball player of all time and why? You once said matter of taste. I rate Dražen highly, he was great, but for me Bodiroga was also great. Someone else would say another name. Ba- sketball is a sport that has made many celebrated players, so it’s re- ally tough to name the top ten, let alone the best one. What is the most important thing you have learned from the national coach Saša Đor- đević? What advice of his do you remember? Everyone knows what kind of a player Saša was and how much he has done for Serbian basketball. Every piece of advice he offers is invaluable.
