TOP TIPS FROM OUR STUDENTS
When you arrive at university, you often forget about the practical day-to-day tasks to check off your list. To help you, School Reps have put pen to paper and shared their top tips for when you join us here on Bay Campus.
GET A BUS PASS Bus travel to and from Swansea University is reliable, affordable and sustainable. With regular services between campuses and routes covering the majority of the city, it’s easy to get about. 1 REGISTER WITH A DOCTOR Accessing the doctor on Singleton campus is not the only option – there is a Doctor’s Surgery which is just one stop away on the number 8 or number 10 bus – a five minute bus trip away. 2 VISIT THE STUDENT EXPERIENCE OFFICE They’re the go-to-team for pastoral care, advice on health and wellbeing. 3 STUDY SPACES – NOT JUST THE LIBRARY If the library at Bay Campus is busy, check out the other study spaces in the School of Management, the Great Hall, Nanhyfer and other buildings across campus. 4 DON’T BE AFRAID TO CONSULT YOUR LECTURERS – THEY ARE HERE TO HELP Lecturers at the School are really approachable and want you to succeed. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. 5 6 JOIN A SOCIETY It’s an easy way to make friends and there are over 150 societies to chose from! 7 PREPARE BEFORE ATTENDING SEMINARS It will really help with your course work and studies in the long run. 8 THE FIRST YEAR IS MEANT TO PREPARE YOU FOR THE SECOND YEAR Find a balance between your studies and social life.
