MANAGEMENT

Who Should Attend This course is geared toward quality, manufacturing, and product development engineers. It is recommended that you have an engineering degree and experience in the automotive engineering field. Topical Outline • Global 8D Overview • Prepare for Global 8D • Establish the Team • Describe the Problem and Develop ICAs • Define and Verify the Root Cause • Define and Verify Permanent Corrective Actions (PCAs) • Prevent Recurrence • Recognize Contributions System Engineering and Strategic Program Management for the Aviation Industry 3 Days | Classroom Seminar (Available in China Only) I.D.# C1631 The course directly addresses improved aircraft system design tools and processes, which, when implemented will significantly contribute to simpler, lower cost and even safer airplanes that meet customer quality demands. Adding value to the high-leveraged area of Design (Reducing design by involving manufacturing) — which is what this course does — can start to reverse the current trend (overrun and long delay) and help Aircraft companies be more profitable. Learning Objectives By attending this course, you will be able to: • Describe how to measure and manage an aircraft program from the beginning to the end. • Determine all essential input, process, and output requirements from planning to test. • Learn how to simplify the design process through production from planning to execution. • Acquire the lifecycle strategy using Integrated Master Plan/ Schedule (IMP/IMS). • Identify all the Influences of the cost drivers on People, Product and Process. Who Should Attend This seminar will benefit individuals having responsibilities in: System engineering, project management, design, testing & validation, and also high level managers in Aviation industry. Global 8D 2.5 Hours | On Demand Course I.D.# PD111860

Global 8D (G8D) is a disciplined process developed by Ford Mo- tor Company to help product development and manufacturing engineers identify and solve problems. Solving problems results in efficient, as well as effective, resolution to ‘root causes’ of cus- tomer satisfaction issues, and helps reduce warranty costs. With this 2-hour online course, you will learn the methods and tools used to complete each step in the Ford Global 8D find-and- fix problem-solving process, including steps to define the problem, verify the root cause and escape point, and prevent occurrence. The course is designed to provide you with the analytical and procedural information you need to understand, describe, and participate in the G8D problem-solving process as a team member. While certain Ford proprietary information has been removed from the course, it contains essentially the same content that engineers from Ford and select suppliers have benefitted from taking. Learning Objectives By participating in this course, you will be able to: • Describe each step in the G8D process • Identify the types of problems best resolved using the G8D problem-solving method • Participate as an effective G8D team member • Apply Global 8D problem-solving methods as a G8D team member • Use G8D process support tools and the G8D web application
