Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania based ePS, previously the productivity software business of Electronics for Imaging (EFI), announced in January 2022 that it had become an in- dependent global software company after being acquired by an affiliate of Symphony Technology Group, a private equity partner to market-leading companies in software, data and analytics. Attendees had the chance to access the latest technol- ogy, including Packaging Suite 11 which is set for release in the second quarter, and offer their input on what their needs are and what they would like to see in the future. Along with industry thought leaders Pat McGrew and Ryan McAbee, there were deep dive learning tracks targeting packaging businesses, large and small, specializing in folding carton, corrugated packaging and more, as well the eFlow tools that technology users can adopt to en- hance their bottom line in terms of controlling costs and improving efficiency and profitability.

On the corrugated side, there were sessions simulating a box plant audit that highlighted ePS products including CorrPlan, CorrTrim, Corrugated Business System, and Roll- stock Tracking, as well as a learning track focused on the underlying technology behind the products as well as ePS’ modernization efforts. Leading hardware and software manufacturers attend- ed with exhibitors representing print and packaging indus- try leaders in equipment/hardware, software, and enabling technologies. Two of the top schools with print/packag- ing programs, California Polytechnic State University and Clemson University, participated as sponsors as well as educational associations, including the PRINTING United Alliance, the Flexible Packaging Association, the Tag and Labels Manufacturers Institute, and the Print and Graphics Scholarship Foundation. On the main stage, Marc Olin, Executive Chairman of ePS, spoke with Keynote speaker Ford Bowers, CEO of PRINTING United Alliance, about the future of the industry. Other keynotes included Alison Keane, President/CEO of Nick Benkovich, Vice President, Portfolio Product Manage- ment, updated attendees on the exciting details about the four components of the ePS Enterprise Suite.
