Downtown Christmas Kids Fest The Christmas Kids Fest in downtown North Platte is filled with special holiday fun for children and families at the North Platte Community Playhouse. It includes a Christmas movie in the theater, visits with Santa, games and crafts, a coloring contest, and carriage rides. Christmas at the Cody’s Colonel William F. “Buffalo Bill” Cody and his wife Louisa loved to entertain for the holidays in their beautiful mansion. Today the community of North Platte keeps the tradition alive with Christmas at the Cody: Every nook and cranny of the Cody mansion is filled with holiday cheer. Outside, cider, cookies and roasted chestnuts are served in a recreation of Christmas past. Horsedrawn rides complete with carolers will keep you warm and toasty no matter the weather. Out in the barn, you’ll find our Military Appreciation Tree and you can create your own ornament for a favorite service member.
