Ecological preservation is a fundamental element of the land development process and is essential to achieve sustainable and responsible goals for the environment while ensuring regulatory compliance. Whitestone’s ecological services involve assessing properties to identify natural resources that may require preservation and enhancement during site development. Whitestone’s ecologists and biologists observe and record site conditions, collect samples, and conduct surveys to identify ecological resources and their potential impacts on development.

Whitestone’s Ecological Services include:

• Environmental Assessments : Identifying environmental permits and actions that are necessary prior to land clearing or grading activities and determining local, state, and federal regulatory requirements for site development; • Wildlife Surveys & Relocation Services : Identifying certain wildlife species that are protected under federal and/or state laws and defining procedures to be followed for protection or relocation prior to land clearing or development occurring; • Wetland Delineations & Jurisdictional Determinations : Identifying and mapping the boundaries of wetlands present on a property, according to federal and state environmental regulations, is essential for assessing jurisdictional determinations and identifying areas of the property that can be developed or if mitigation options are available;

• Tree Surveys : Locating and marking protected trees and preparing tree mitigation and protection plans; and

• Regulatory Permitting : Assisting with Environmental Resource Permits, Uniform Mitigation Assessment Methods, Environmental Impact Reports, and Preserve Area Management Plans.

Whitestone also provides no-cost seminars pre-approved for CLE, AIA & PE CECs.
