As a new team member at Total Performance Physical Therapy, Dr. Spector is excited to have the chance to positively impact the lives of his patients. Dr. Spector found his passion for physical therapy throughout his athletic career. He played football and baseball, later going on to play baseball at the division III level. Dr. Spector also has a strong desire to help others, which has led his physical therapy focus to outpatient orthopedics. Dr. Spector is thrilled to offer patient-centered care and believes in treating patients through a whole- body approach. Sports and fitness remain a big part of Dr. Spector’s free time as he still plays baseball competitively, and he enjoys being able to work with athletes of all ages. THESE 4 SUPER FOODS! Help Ease Arthritis Pain With 1. Broccoli, Brussels sprouts and cabbage. These veggies are part of the cruciferous family, and they are full of a compound called sulforaphane, which helps slow cartilage damage in joints due to osteoarthritis. 2. Fatty fish. Fatty fish like salmon, tuna, trout andmackerel are rich inomega-3 fatty acids, whichhelpfight inflammation. If you’re not a big fan of fish, ask your doctor about taking an omega-3 supplement. 3. Garlic. Garlic is a member of the allium family—which also includes onions and leeks. These items contain a compound called diallyl disulfide that may help with a number of diseases—including arthritis. 4. Tart cherries. Some people with arthritis have found relief from products made from tart cherries. The ingredient in cherries that helps with joint symptoms is the same one that gives this fruit its red color—anthocyanin.

HEALTHY RECIPE PEANUT BUTTER ENERGY BALLS
INGREDIENTS • 2 cups old-fashioned rolled oats • ½ cup ground flax seeds • 1 tbsp black chia seeds
• ½ cup peanut butter • 1 tsp vanilla extract • 1 scoop vanilla whey protein powder • ½ cup dark chocolate chips
• 1 tsp cinnamon • ½ cup raw honey
DIRECTIONS Add rolled oats, ground flax seed, chia seeds, cinnamon, honey, peanut butter, vanilla extract, and vanilla protein powder to food processor. Pulse until ingredients are blended (about 7-9 times). Add mixture to a large bowl, add in chocolate chip. Stir to combine. Form energy bite mixture into 1” balls and place on parchment paper lined baking sheet. Cover and place in refrigerator for 2 hours.
