Journey through America’s musical heartland, from the birthplace of jazz and the cradle of rock ‘n’ roll to the undisputed capital of country music.
Begin your musical journey in Birmingham, Alabama, before heading south to New Orleans, a city where history, music and some of the best food in America come together. Spend two nights in the Big Easy, exploring the iron balconies of the French Quarter, the colourful streets of Tremé, and the bars and clubs famous for jazz music. An optional swamp excursion through the Louisiana bayou offers a taste of Creole life. Heading through Mississippi, the cradle of the Delta blues and birthplace of legends, including Robert Johnson and Muddy Waters, you’ll visit Tupelo and the house where Elvis Presley was born in January 1935. From there, continue to Memphis, where Beale Street has been the heart of the blues scene since
the early 1900s. Join the optional full day excursion to Sun Studio, where rock and roll was born in 1951, and Graceland, Elvis’ beloved home and final resting place. Nashville comes next, the country music capital of the world and home to the Ryman Auditorium. An optional visit to Historic RCA Studio B, where Elvis recorded over 200 songs, and the Country Music Hall of Fame rounds off the highlights before an afternoon to explore at your own pace. The tour ends with a scenic drive south through Chattanooga, a quintessential southern trading town beautifully set on the Tennessee River, before travelling to Atlanta for your overnight flight home.
