On Tbilisi’s main street enjoy your first taste of Georgian cuisine with lobiani, a warm, bean-filled pastry made from kidney beans. Travel east to Kakheti, Georgia’s celebrated wine region. Explore the picturesque hilltop town of Signaghi before continuing to Kvareli to meet a local family. Take part in a hands-on lesson making traditional Georgian bread and crafting churchkhela, a sweet treat of nuts dipped in thickened grape juice, paired with a glass of home-brewed chacha. Stroll through Telavi’s lively farmers’ market and visit the
11th-century Alaverdi Cathedral. In Pankisi Valley, join a family to prepare jijig galnish, a hearty lamb stew with dumplings and garlic sauce, before sampling organic qvevri wines and learning about Georgia’s ancient winemaking traditions.
