Arrive in Antananarivo for an overnight stay. The following day, transfer to Vakona Forest Lodge, nestled in the heart of the Malagasy rainforest. Explore the surrounding wilderness with guided walks in Andasibe-Mantadia National Park, home to species such as the black-and-white ruffed lemur, diademed sifaka and Parson’s chameleon. Return to Antananarivo for a city tour, visiting the royal palaces before travelling south. Visit Antsirabe, a traditional Merina village, and continue to Ambositra, Madagascar’s handicraft capital, for a traditional Malagasy lunch with folklore entertainment. Journey onwards to Ranomafana National Park, exploring its rainforest habitats and the Ranomafana Arboretum, which protects rare tree species. Visits to the Antemoro Paper Factory and Anja Reserve provide insight into local culture and opportunities to observe

ring-tailed lemurs. Explore the spectacular sandstone landscapes of Isalo National Park, keeping an eye out for Malagasy hoopoes, Verreaux’s sifakas and the elephant’s foot plant. Enjoy a traditional music performance at sunset. The next morning, travel towards the west coast, stopping at Zombitse-Vohibasia National Park, known for its baobab trees and family tombs. Finally, travel to the coastal village of Ifaty, where long sandy beaches and a relaxed atmosphere provide the perfect setting to unwind before your journey home.
