factory as the first and larger part, which is devoted to the history of Premillennialism. Any one who wishes to know what the his tory of Premillennialism really is should read this book. The preface is written by Bishop Wm. T. Hogue. “The Coming and Kingdom of- Christ” Bible Institute Colportage Association, Chi cago. 50c. This book is a stenographic repprt of the Prophetic Bible Conference held at the Moody Bible Institute, February 24-27, 1914. We have already made mention of this con ference. This report is an excellent one, very full and very accurate. It is a most valuable work for any one who wishes to study what Premillennialists believe and why they believe it. There are addresses in it by Rev. Robert McWatty Russell, E). D„ LL. D., President Westminster College; Rev. Canon, F. E. Howitt, M. A.; Rev. C. I. Scofield, D. D .; Rev. W. B. Riley, D. D. ; Rev. L. W. Munhall, D. D .; A. C. Gaebe- lein; Rev. Ford C. Ottman, D. D .; Rev. Grant Stroh; President Charles A. Blanch ard, D. D., of Wheaton College; Rev. George E. Guille; Rev. James M. Gray, D. D., and R. A. Torrey. Some of the subjects treated are “The Kingdom View of the Gospel as Related to the Missionary Program of Christ,” “The Lord’s Coming a Key to the Scriptures.” “The Doctrine of the Last Things as Found in the Prophets,” “The Second Coming of Our Lord in Relation' to Evangelism,” “The Historical Ministry of Premillennialism and Coming Judgeship of the Saints,” “The Present Day Apostacy, a Proof of the In spiration of the Bible, and the Near Com ing of Our Lord,” “The Order of Events Connected with the Coming of the Lord,” “The Lord’s Coming a Motive for Personal Holiness.”'

“The Modern Gift of Tongues: Whence is it? A Testimony and Examination.” By G. H. Lang. This book is the most thorough examina tion of this whole subject of the modern gift of tongues that we have seen. The writer has gone very carefully into the sub ject and is very fair. Nevertheless he is very positive in exposing the unscriptural- ness and the dangers of this movement. It is a good book to put into the hands of anybody who is perplexed and really desires to know and obey the truth. “The Lord’s Return Seen in History and in Scripture as Premillennial and Immi nent.” By Jesse Forest Silver. Any one who wishes to know the history of Premilleniali'sm should read this book. It has packed the most information into a small compass of any book that we know. If is an exhaustive treatment of the whole subject and it shows clearly how all the early Christians who were really loyal to the truth were premillennarians and how throughout the centuries, in spite of the op position of Rome to Premillennialism, God raised up men who stood for the great truth of the personal, Premillennial, return of our Lord. Though not intended as a reply to some of the articles that have re cently appeared in which special pleaders have tried to show that Premillennialism has always been connected with erratic views on other doctrines, it is in fact a crushing reply and shows clearly, though it does not say it, that any one who identifies Premillennialism with Millennial Dawnism and other modern forms of error is either an ignoramus or a deliberate falsifier. The second part of the book in which the Scriptures regarding the subject are founded is scrappy and not nearly so satis
