9.1. Glossary: Definitions of key terms and acronyms in Cyber Security

AES – Advanced Encryption Standard: Electronic data encryption specification set by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) of the United States

BSSN – Badan Siber dan Sandi Negara (Indonesia): Indonesian government agency responsible for cybersecurity.

CSF – Cybersecurity Framework: Created by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) of the United States to provide a cybersecurity policy framework and guidance for private sector organizations to evaluate and improve their ability to prevent, detect, and respond to cyberattacks. DDoS – Distributed Denial of Service: a type of cyberattack in which the perpetrator attempts to disrupt the normal traffic of a server, service, or network by flooding the target and its surrounding infrastructure with excessive internet traffic. E2EE – End-to-end encryption: a highly secure communication method that ensures the confidentiality and security of data transferred between two devices. With E2EE, data is encrypted on the sending device, and only the recipient who has the decryption key can access it. This means that messages cannot be read or tampered with by any third party, including internet service providers, application service providers, hackers, or other entities
