Brother Hardi L. Jones is survived by his wife of 58 years, the former Yvonne Thompson Jones, Miriam Yvette Jones Atkins, MD and Sandra Lynnette Jones (Rod) Malone; granddaughter, Schuy- ler Dianne Atkins; sister, Anna Jones McDonald, Ph.D.; and a host of rela- tives, close friends, and professional colleagues. tration and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant upon graduation. In 1980 while on active duty, he completed an MBA from Webster University. On October 1, 1999, he was promot- ed to the active duty grade of Colonel in the U.S. Air Force. He was pinned with his new rank at a ceremony at the Pentagon, surrounded by family, friends, and military personnel. During McFadgen’s Air Force career, he had a variety of assignments and held numerous positions in the field and on staff. His exceptional knowledge and skill as a Missile Launch Crew member led to subsequent positions as an Instructor, Administrator, and Crew Commander. McFadgen’s leadership and job performance led to being com- petitively selected to serve as Deputy Commander, for a 1,500-member organization responsible for providing support and services to two Operational Wings and a base population of 12,000. His career culminated at the Pentagon with an assignment as Deputy Chief, Saudi Arabia Division, in the Office of the Deputy Under Secretary of the Air Force for International Affairs, at Head- quarters USAF. In this capacity, he managed the Department of Defense’s largest security assistance program gen- erating more than 34 billion dollars in foreign military sales. He also assisted in managing all USAF International Programs for Saudi Arabia. One of the greatest and most notable moments in McFadgen’s career was when he was reassigned to his alma mater, NC A&T as Professor of Aerospace Studies, AF- ROTC Det. 605, where he was known to the cadets he taught and mentored as “Captain Mac.” At A&T, he was respon- sible for producing some of the most competent minority second lieutenants in the world’s greatest Air Force. After retiring from the Air Force, McFadgen became a licensed realtor with Keller Williams Realty. He was a competitive golfer and enjoyed travel- ing and spending time with family and friends. Hardi L. Jones (Delta Lambda 1959) entered the Chapter Invisible on June 9, 2022, at 79, surrounded by his family after a brief illness. Hardi Liddell Jones was
born November 2, 1942, in St. Louis, MO, and spent his formative years on the campus of St. Paul’s College, Lawrenceville, VA, where his parents, Thomas Hardi E. Jones, Ph.D., and Jamesetta Liddell Jones, MA, worked. Jones graduated from James Solomon Russell High School as valedictorian in 1958 and earned a BS degree in chemis- try from St. Paul’s in 1962. Hardi joined the National Oceano- graphic Data Center in the Naval Oceanographic Office, Department of the Navy in 1962 as an oceanographer and retired in 1994 as a distinguished member of the Federal Government Senior Executive Service (SES), an esteemed and highly selective honor achieved by fewer than one percent of all government employees. A Life Member of the Fraternity, Jones held membership in the Hyatts- ville-Landover (MD) Alumni and Au- gusta (GA) Alumni Chapters, where he served the latter as polemarch. He was a member of the Beta Mu Boulé, a char- ter and a legacy member, and a member- ship with the Glenwood Park Squires, Frontiers International, and Connecting Links of The Links, Incorporated. Jones led the Prince George’s County, Mary- land, Branch of the NAACP as presi- dent from 1991 to 1998. He tutored at Shiloh Comprehensive Community Center and sat on several boards, in- cluding the Ike and Justine Washington Scholarship Foundation, Augusta Urvan Redevelopment Authority, and River- Place Homeowners Association. United States Air Force (USAF) Colonel (Ret.) Daniel A. “Tony” McFadgen of Dale City, VA, transitioned to Chapter Invis- ible on Tuesday,
November 16, 2021. “Brother Mac” as he was affectionately known, was a 1975 initiate of the North Carolina A&T State University Chapter, the Alpha Nu of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. He was an active member of the Woodbridge (VA) Alumni Chapter, where he especial- ly cared for the chapter’s Senior Kappas. Daniel Alexander McFadgen was born on February 18, 1955, in Elizabethtown, NC, the beloved eldest son of Glen- dell and Mary Robinson’s five children. McFadgen was educated in the Eliza- bethtown, NC, public school system, graduating in 1973 from East Bladen High School. While at East Bladen, he was an outstanding student and ath- lete, involved in various activities. He was a charter member of East Bladen High School’s JROTC program and was elected Senior Class President. McFadgen embodied “achievement” even at a young age, being a charter member of his high school’s JROTC program. He graduated from North Carolina A&T State University in 1977 with a B.S degree in business adminis-
