BOARD / AMBASSADORS Aerospace Wales would like to thank our Co-Chairs, Directors and Ambassadors for their continued support of the Forum’s activities and for helping to shape the future strategy in our endeavours for the Aerospace, Defence and Space organisations operating in Wales. The group represent all sub-sectors of our industry from large organisations to SME’s, ensuring we get a representative view of the industry.

David Morgan, Co-Chairman A versatile and enthusiastic business & commercial executive with a 25 year management pedigree gained within the Aerospace & Defence, Information Technology, Services, and Research sectors. David has extensive experience of working within both commercial and government organisations across a wide variety of industry sectors. David is a lateral thinker and pragmatic problem solver, having gained experience in contract negotiation and dispute resolution within the UK and the US as well as internationally. David has successfully held various senior commercial and business management posts within such diverse market sectors as space communications, Information Technology hardware/software and internet security. David has held senior roles in Executive Agencies of the UK Government, dealing with clients in both the public and private sectors.

has significant experience in leading and delivering change programmes and has developed a strong track record for raising Business performance. Mark’s particular strengths have transformed the commercial performance of the Agile group through the development of additional value-adding services and business excellence programmes for their Customers. Mark joined the Aerospace Wales forum as an observer in 2014 and was appointed a Director in 2016.

Mark has over 30 years’ experience in the Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Sector, particularly Aerospace which has been gained within change, operational, supply chain and general managerial positions, both in the UK and abroad. He

the Aerospace Wales Forum (an Industry Wales company) since its foundation in 2002. The Forum represents 180 companies in Wales including branches of seven of the world’s top ten aerospace, space and defence companies and provides advice on strategy and industry matters to the Welsh Government. In 2015 the Forum, working in partnership with Welsh Government, published a Space Strategy for Wales and established a specialist Space Group. Other key sector groups include MRO, aircraft interiors and civil aircraft manufacturing. During a 32-year career with British Aerospace he spent 15 years as a Divisional Director with leadership roles in engineering, human resources, project management and quality. He was involved with a range of both civil and military projects, including Typhoon, Tornado, Harrier, Hawk, Nimrod, BAE Advanced Turboprop, BAE146 Avroliner and Airbus wing programmes. He is a European Engineer, a UK Chartered Engineer, a Chartered Quality Professional and a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society

2005. During this time I have played a critical role in taking a start-up Joint Venture Company from its initial opening, formulating the strategic direction and then forming and moulding the Business at an operating level to build a robust and sustainable Organisation with an Industry acknowledged reputation to provide and perform aircraft nacelle, thrust reverser and exhaust component maintenance, repair and overhaul services at or above Industry benchmarks and successfully compete and win in a global market. Since 2004 I have also served as the Chair of the Aerospace Wales Forum (AWF) giving my commitment to work with the Forum and Welsh Assembly Government to help contribute to creating a positive environment in Wales supporting and encouraging the growth and success of the Welsh Aerospace Sector.

Prior to this role Rachael worked for the Welsh Government, responsible for the aerospace sector in North East Wales which gave a valuable insight into how the sector operates, what it aims to achieve and the challenges it faces. Through this role Rachael also gained inside knowledge of government agencies and funding packages. Rachael has an enviable list of contacts with the key players in the sector, with which she has built strong working relationships. Rachael also works closely with the other regional Aerospace forums, Welsh Government, UK Government and the Devolved Administrations. Rachael has a degree in Business and Finance and lives in North Wales, she enjoys renovating houses, theatre and travelling, especially to places where she can snorkel, experience different cultures and can encounter wild animals in their natural environment.
