A WELCOME FROM THE SEND TEAM!
We are very much looking forward to working with you and your child/ren as they begin their transition to our school. We have a friendly and experienced team of Teaching Assistants and Higher Level Teaching Assistants who are ready to support your child where appropriate. Our vision is to create a nurturing, inclusive environment where every student feels valued and supported. We aim to help young people develop resilience, independence, and confidence, enabling them to make the best progress possible throughout their time with us. We also work closely with teachers across the school to promote inclusive classroom practice. Our role involves supporting staff in adapting teaching and learning approaches so that every student can access the curriculum effectively. In addition to in‐class support, we provide targeted interventions on a small‐group or one‐to‐one basis. These interventions are planned following a thorough triangulation process, drawing on teacher insight, assessment information, external agency advice where appropriate, and student voice. This ensures that every intervention is purposeful, personalised, and impactful. Where appropriate, we also operate a keyworker system, offering a consistent point of contact for students and families. This helps to strengthen communication between home and school and supports sustained progress, wellbeing, and engagement. We have a designated area within the school that includes smaller teaching spaces, offering a calm and focused environment for learning and additional support when required. Please look out for information about our Enhanced Transition events. These sessions run alongside the whole‐school Transition Programme and offer extra opportunities to visit the school, during the summer term Further details will be shared with you over the coming months.
