REWARDS
TThe Wellington Academy is committed to celebrating the success of students within the school and wider community. House points are awarded for outstanding contribution to classwork, independent learning, homework, school life through house competitions, department run activities and engagement with enrichment. These rewards are recorded on the school’s system Arbor. The students commonly refer to these as ‘House Points’, and once recorded parents and students will be able to view these entries uvia the Arbor App. The school’s reward system is linked to the number of ‘positives’ on the system and the total percentage of attendance. Past rewards have been Cinema afternoons, non-uniform days, Christmas Party's, breakfast with staff and trips to mention but a few. Additionally, we end every term with a rewards assembly ran by the Pastoral team, during which time we recognise academic effort, progress and attainment and individual student achievements.
OUR HOUSE SYSTEM
Our house system is a vital part of school life, designed to reflect our core values, create leadership opportunities, build a strong sense of community with inter-house competitions and fundraise for our school nominated charity - Help for Heroes. It also plays an important role in how we recognise and reward student achievements through the house points given out in lessons, and through house assemblies. At the end of the year, weekly interhouse competition results and house points are tallied up for our annual end of year rewards afternoon announcing the Wellington Award, Sports Day Cup and House Cup winners. Every child will be welcomed into one of our four houses when starting at The Wellington Academy, where they’ll have the opportunity to contribute, grow and feel a real sense of belonging.
