ARRIVING LATE TO SCHOOL Any student who arrives late, after 08:27, MUST sign in with the reception on arrival. If a student arrives after 09:30 they will need a note from their parent/carer as this is deemed an absence as the registers have been closed for the morning session. SCHOOL TIMETABLE There are 25 hours teaching per week for all students. However, the timetable is organised on a fortnightly basis to allow the flexibility required to accommodate all subjects in the curriculum. CONDUCT CARDS Students are expected to always carry their conduct card and present them on the desks for each lesson. Conduct cards allow staff to recognise and reward positive behaviours around the school by signing their initials on the reward & recognition side of the card. Once they have filled up the positive side, this is worth 20 house points that the tutor is expected to log on Arbor each morning during tutor.
These are then tallied up for house competitions, year group competitions and termly reward assemblies to drive the incentive to be a positive member of the community at The Wellington Academy. ENRICHMENT (AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES) Students are encouraged to attend a wide range of enrichment activities. Parents are able to sign up their child to each activity via the Arbor Parent Portal.
The dates and times of each enrichment activity are viewable on the Portal.
Activities range from sports and performing arts clubs to crafts, debate, young enterprise, science and many more. Participation in enrichment is reported on alongside academic reports, which are published twice a year.
