NOLAN GONNERMAN Nolan Gonnerman from Pueblo, Colorado, comes from a rodding family and loves his ’56 Chevrolet BelAir. The factory hot rod now features a Vortec SBC 350 with Edelbrock heads and a TH400 with a 2,500 stall converter. An AirRide-slammed suspension on the factory chassis, front disc brakes, a set of 17-inch American five-spokes, black over orange paint by Mike Scaplo, and a black and orange interior by Flashback Hot Rods. That’s a great ride, Nolan can cruise straight into the 22nd Century.

KARSTEN CASTAIN Karsten Castain out of Loxahatchee, Florida, bought his ’51 Chevrolet 3100 as a rolling chassis off Facebook Marketplace and thus began a great learning experience. Karsten, with the help of grandpa, learned to weld, learned to make mounts (motor, four-bar, etc.), and just about everything else. The truck features replacement corners that have been perfectly patina matched, a Mustang II IFS, a four-bar controlled rear diff with QA1 coilovers, and a Chevy 350 engine mated to a 700R4. Karsten stitched the brown leather interior after adding Bluetooth tunes, Painless Performance Wiring, Classic Instruments, and 15-inch smoothies with Diamondback whitewall radials. The truck is too cool and the lessons you learned will serve you the rest of your life!

TYLER RAPANT We’re surprised we don’t see more Fox-bodied Mercury Capri 5.0s just for something different. Tyler RaPant from Saratoga Springs, New York, literally found his in a barn and has been getting the little Fox ready for the last two years. The red ‘Crimson Cat’ colored Capri has the stock suspension, factory paint, factory suspension, in fact, factory everything. Everything except the sweet 347ci Ford small-block engine backed up with a manual transmission featuring a Hurst short-throw shifter. That’s a great start and we love the old Fox bodies!
