Over 60,000 head of LT influenced calves, yearlings, replacement heifers, and bred cattle marketed this past year. We have developed a feeder cattle marketing program over the past several years dedicated to adding value to not only our commercial customers herds, but to promote top performing genetics to some of the best farmer feeders and commercial feedlots across the country. LT genetics have performed at the top of industry standards for years and are highly sought after by the feedlots and packers. Our goal is to help facilitate contacts between our bull customers and feeders that are seeking top quality Charolais cross and Angus feeder cattle and replacement females. We purchase several thousand head of feeder cattle and replacement heifers from our customers each year to feed or breed in our own feedlots. We have been experiencing the highest priced calves in history, but genetics and quality still lead the way. Cattle feeders are focused on sourcing genetics that have a proven track record of performing in the feedlot and on the rail at the packing house. There is definitely a big price spread between average cattle and top performing cattle and now is the time to invest in genetics that can take your herd to the next level and increase your bottom line. Focusing on cattle that have performance, higher yield, and higher grades will be a priority moving forward as the feeders and packers are demanding these traits.
