They were scared and ran into the jungles. Word came back later from the enemy camp wondering who those strange men were who encircled the Chris-
which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God." The same type of faith and de termination was true of Moses (Heb. 11:23). This man refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter. He decided he would rather suffer affliction with the peo ple of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season. The Bible says, "he had respect unto the recompence of the reward. He endured, as seeing him who is in visible." In Elisha's case his testi mony was, "Fear not; for they that be with us are more than they that be with them" (II Kings 6:15). Eli sha prayed that his servant might see the truth. The Lord opened the eyes of the young man. This time when he looked he saw that the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha. This was an angelic host sent by God to protect His trusted servant. Elisha's servant was filled with fear and hopelessness. Now he was to get a glimpse of the invisible. Do you think the same could happen today? Unquestionably it could. Friends of the mission field have told me that they have had such experiences. Some time ago I received a let ter from a friend of mine in Viet Nam. He told of God's miraculous intervention on behalf of a group of tribal Christians who had gath ered in their little church. The Viet Cong moved in from the forest around them. Recently, when in the area myself I checked on the story. I am convinced it really hap pened. The Viet Cong were com ing down to this little village where the Christians were living and seeking to serve the Lord. There was little question but that Page 36
