Dr. Jacob Gartenhaus, founder-presi­ dent of the International Board of Jewish Missions, Atlanta, Georgia, has celebrated the fortieth anniver­ sary of his organization. The Board now has missionaries on both sides of the Iron Curtain in Europe, and in other countries of the world. Dr. Merrill C. Tenney, dean of the graduate school of Wheaton College, is author of a special worship booklet being distributed for the annual World Day of Prayer set for March 9. Dr. Cíate A. Risley, executive secre­ tary of the National Sunday School Association, has unfolded interesting themes for the observance of National Youth Week, January 28 to February 4. Subjects include life careers, mar­ riage, and lasting friendships. Rev. Ernest Peirson, pastor of the Grove Street Bibe Church, Pomona, California (standing), and Rev. Fifteen other speakers will also be featured, including Rev. Stephen F. Olford, Dr. Jack Wyrtzen, Dr. Alan Redpath, Dr. Roy L. Aldrich, and Dr. Alden A. Gannett. Sessions will be held February 5 through 11. Dr. Edward J. Young, professor of Old Testament at Westminster Theologi­ cal Seminary, Philadelphia, has been selected as speaker for the annual theological lectureship, February 15- 16 at Wheaton College Graduate School of Theology. Senator Strom Thurmond of South Carolina, was a recent speaker at Bob Jones University, talking on the theme, “Shall We Survive?” Paint­ ings which are a part of the Univer­ sity’s art collection, were used on the Christmas program produced by NBC- TV, “Project Twenty.”
