cuted by some, and prized by others, and in forewarning. His disciples He was forearming them. It is easy to complain that t i m e has not been long enough for us to finish our schemes, yet there is always granted to us enough time for our appointed tasks.—John MacBeath. 25. Retrospect in Glory “Unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, to the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever” (Jude 24, 25). As we stand with our blessed Lord in glory and look back over all the way we have come, He will explain to us the reason for every pain, and He will show us how He has put all our tears in His bottle and treasured them up. Then He literally will over whelm us when He gives us to realize how everything has been worked out for our blessing. Till then we can but trust and wait. —Harry A. Ironside. 26. Set the Guord '“Let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall” (1 Cor. 10:12). If Moses, the meekest man, sinned for lack of meekness; if David, one of the purest men, sinned for lack of purity; if Peter, the boldest of the apostles, sinned for lack of boldness; and if Abraham, the father of the faithful, sinned for lack of faithful ness, is it not wise to let God stand guard even at our strongest point of character?—A. C. Dixon. 27. The Power of Christ . “He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he in- creaseth strength” (Isa. 40:29). Christ brings dynamic, ability into the lives that are yielded to Him. Even after all other resources have failed, when;-- the life is finally sur rendered to Him, He does not fall. He enables the one who has known defeat to know the exhilaration of being- able to do all things through Christ who gives him , power, and makes him ready to say, “For to me to live is Christ.” —William Hazer Wrighton.

28. Praise Him! “I will both lay me Jown in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety” (Psa, 4:8). We should always be ready to praise God. When the day is over, then turn everything over to Him and praise Him for the privilege. It is a good recipe for those sleepless nights to take nothing to bed except praise to God* In the morning, when a new day awaits us and new strength is given us, start the day with a prayer of praise, and find strength for whatever the day brings. —T. H. Binford. For a Heart “But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts” (1 Pet. 3:15). Oh, for a heart to praise my God, A heart from sin set free; A heart that’s sprinkled with the blood So freely shed for me. A humble, lowly, contrite heart Believing, true, and clean, Which neither death nor life can, part From Him that dwells within. Thy nature, gracious Lord, impart, Come quickly from above; Write Thy new name upon my heart, Thy new, best name of Love. —Charles Wesley. Unfolding Love “He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will; love him, and will manifest myself to him” (John 14:21). On and on God is leading you, put ting His hand on this and that, hedging you in here, and holding you up there; and it is always love that does it. There is always a more mar velous unfolding of His love in these acts of God as your own heart re sponds, and as you submit to His Kingship.—G. Campbell Morg.° In His Presence “ In thy presence is fulness of joy” (Psa. 16:11). Many people make this text refer to some future time. But has it no meaning for us in the present? God has said, “My presence shall go with , thee,” and the promise was for our earthly journey. If we realize His presence now, then we know the joy. It is indeed but a foretaste of that joy that shall be. There can be no other reaction than joy to sincere faith' in His presence, His help, His power, and His love.— Upward. 29. 30. ' 31.
