This volume is the story of his struggle with himself and with others, told in an interesting and in formative manner. 163 pages. Loiz- eaux Brothers, Publishers, New York, N. Y. Cloth. Price $1.25. M y Covenant Series Eight handy volumes, beautifully printed and bound in different colors, comprise this series. The front of each book contains a i section which pro vides for the recording of individual decision regarding the subjects dis cussed. The books are: “Salvation” by Harold W. Tribble. “Worldliness Out” by Mary Nance Daniel. “Bible Study” by Sibyl Brame Town send. “Prayer and Meditation” by E. F. Hallock. “Church Loyalty” by William Hall Preston. “Sabbath Observance” by W. O. Carver. “Christian Ownership” by Charles A. Maddry. “Christian Witnessing” by Frank H. Leavell. As explained by Frank H. Leavell, Secretary of the Department of Stu dent Work of the Sunday School Board of the Southern Baptist Convention, “the study is an elaboration of ‘My Covenant,’ the basis of the Master’s Minority Movement, which since 1930 has enjoyed remarkable usefulness among Southern Baptist students in the work of the Baptist Student Union.” The books are intended for the use of individuals as individuals, not by organizations. Naturally, with in the compass of each four-chapter book, it is impossible to develop these subjects to the full satisfaction of every user. But particularly if intro- d u c e d by a skillful and spiritual leader, their use among young peo ple ,could make for clarity of thinking and purity of life. Approximately 90 pages each. Broadman Press, Nash ville, Tenn. Cloth. Price, the set (boxed) $3.95; individual t i t l e s , 65 cents each. Like an oasis in a wilderness, this book will bring spiritual refreshment to Christians living in this militant age of ghastly battlefields and racial animosities. The a u t h o r has pre sented Christ in all His glorious power and majesty, whose alone is the right to reign all nations. The book is evangelistic in its proclamation of fu ture judgment and in its analysis of prophecy, and may profitably be given to the unbeliever. 196 pages. The Broadman Press, Nashville, Tenn. I Still Believe In God By Jacob A. Dell

Too much of the teaching of the past generation, both in classroom and in literature, has either ignored or ridiculed the great realities of God and His universe. Dr. Dell, a pro fessor of practical theology, knows this trend in modern education and in many pulpits, and he also knows the answer. He gives his answer in this book, showing that the Bible and true science are not contradictory, but in agreement. In doing so he deals with such subjects as: Time, Space, Sound, Faith, Truth, Purpose, Destiny, Personality, Man, Life, Sin, and, fin ally, with the Lord Jesus Christ. This is an excellent book, one to establish the reader or bring him back to a vital faith in the eternal God. 256 pages. The Wartburg Press, Columbus, Ohio. Cloth. Price $2.00. Out of the Blitz By P. G. S. Hopwood This book does not pretend to answer the question of how all people react to war. conditions, but it does give a clear picture of how the citi zens of the British Isles live and think in wartime. The author is an English preacher who has gathered all the material for this treatise while busily engaged as the shepherd of a constantly changing group *of people. He has gone through raids and losses. Hence, he uses vivid and illuminating illustrations that are new to Ameri cans. As a subtitle, the author uses the words of the Lord: “The Gates of Hell Shall Not Prevail.” To vindicate the usage of these words, he portrays the terrible punishment that has come to the church and to church proper ties, and yet shows how the Christian faith has not weakened, and, as he claims, shall not weaken. 186 pages. Fleming H. Revel! Co., New York, N. Y. Cloth. Price $2.00. The path one; must travel in break ing away from the priesthood in the Roman Catholic Church to become a Protestant is not an easy one. This book relates such an experience as this. Dr. Lehmann was reared and educated in Ireland, spent his semin ary days in Rome in constant con tact with the papal system, and served as a priest in both South Afri ca and North Americas Yet, when the light of the gospel swept into his soul, showing the unscripturalness of the The Soul of a Priest By H. Victorious and Fruitful Living Compiled and Edited by Theodore W. Engstrom

The editor and compiler explains in the Preface that “we have felt that the great host of friends in the ‘Holi ness Constituency’ would be vitally interested in a published book of messages written by leaders in the National Holiness Association.” *The persons c h o s e n as authors of the eleven chapters of the book are repre sentative men: college presidents, pas tors, editors, teachers, and evangelists. The messages all center in the work of the Holy S p i r i t in the believer. Among the chapters are “Pentecost— Needed Now,” by J. C. McPheeters; “Service That Lives,” by Stephen W. Paine; and “Clean Lives in a Soiled World,” by Paul S. Rees. It is not expected that the reader will agree with all that is presented shere, but this compilation of views furnishes % excellent material for s t u d y . 116 pages. Zondervan Pub. House, Grand Rapids, ’ÎVTich. Cloth. Price $1.00. The author, a busy pastor, has not written a technical and critical treat ise, but rather a 'devotional, practical, and easy-to-be-read volume on certain cardinal truths found in the great apostle’s last letter to the young pas tor at Ephesus. Both preacher and people will find much worthwhile ma terial here, though many will not agree wifh the treatment of Ephesians 3:16, 17. 136 pages. Zondervan Pub. House, Grand Rapids, Mich. Cloth.
