Strategies
2.1 Develop an organizational prevention plan to present leadership advocating for prevention and wellness more broadly—inclusive of cancer, injury prevention, etc. Create a specific “ask” that aligns with, leverages, and/or complements BBAHC’s current strategic plan, organizational priorities, initiatives, operating environment, and fiscal resources. 2.2 Evaluate BBAHC’s organizational capacity to develop and distribute cancer prevention and early detection messaging materials. Consider current media contract parameters. 2.3 Establish Community Health Representative (CHR) program to provide health education in village settings. Have a coordinator in Dillingham and CHRs in five villages. 2.4 Establish population health targets for lifestyle indicators linked to cancer risk, including tobacco and excessive alcohol use, obesity, and nutrition and physical activity. 2.5a Continue efforts to establish BBAHC as a tobacco-free healthcare campus. 2.5b Review clinical approaches to mitigate cancer risk for patients with H. pylori infections.
