Call to Action Cancer takes a significant toll on individuals, families, and communities affecting their physical, emotional, social, and economic well-being. In the absence of a cancer program at BBAHC, there is no coordinated effort to address the cancer burden in Bristol Bay. WHY HAVE A PLAN? A comprehensive cancer control plan serves as a roadmap for implementing effective strategies to prevent cancer, improve treatment outcomes, and enhance the quality of life for cancer survivors. A plan integrates the strategies that have worked, either in that area or in a similar place, and turns them into a blueprint for action. By identifying priorities and allocating resources effectively, a cancer control plan helps ensure that individuals have access to necessary cancer care services.
