Bristol Bay Area Health Corporation: Cancer Control Plan

Unduplicated Patients, 2020 and 2024

BBAHC Patients Patient demographics are strategic inputs for cancer plan development. They enable personalized care, reduce disparities, inform strategies, and ensure that services are equitable, effective, and responsive to the needs of all patient populations. Integrating demographic data into cancer planning supports targeted prevention efforts, early intervention strategies, treatment, clinical outcomes and health equity priorities. In 2024 BBAHC provided care to 5,100 individuals, an increase of about 19% from 2020. From 2020 to 2024, over 80% of the patients were Alaska Native or American Indian. A slightly higher percentage of females received care, compared to males. In 2024, just under one third of patients were under 18 and about half (55%) were adults aged 18-64. Elders 65+ made up 14% of the patient population in 2024, a three precent increase from 2020.
