STEIN WATER SYSTEM PROJECT SUMMARY A significant portion of LFN reserve land receives domestic water and fire protection from the Stein Water System. The water system draws water from the Stein River, treats this water, and delivers it across a vast area of LFN reserves on the west and east sides of the Fraser River. Prior to the wildfire, this water system was operating near capacity. With the addition of new development resulting from the wildfire recovery as well as the proposed new subdivision, the water system is under significant stress, particularly as it relates to the amount of water needed for fire protection.
To better service the community, including the new subdivision development, the Stein Water Distribution System will be receiving an upgrade.
The upgrades will include:
New underground water reservoir and new pump system to service the subdivision;
Upgrades to the existing water treatment system and pump stations; and
New water main connection to the proposed development, and tie-in to the existing system.
Feedback Window:
The opportunity to provide feedback on the Preliminary Stein Water System Design is between May 2nd to May 16th. However, you may provide general feedback, and ask questions at any time during the project.
