PICK OF THE CROP! Editor Lynda Clark visited Parkside Triangle by Hyde New Homes, right next to beautiful Duppas Hill Park and just a short walk from Waddon railway station, and was very impressed by everything it has to offer to create the perfect space to enjoy life to the full
So important these days, Parkside Triangle is very sustainable and the design works hard to ensure there are biodiversity and ecology benefits. The eco-features also include air source heat pumps, double glazed windows and mechanical ventilation circulating filtered air around the home. There is also a communal growing garden where you can try your hand at growing your own fruit and vegetables – I can’t think of anything nicer that being able to ‘pick my own’. Waddon has a selection of shops, a supermarket and food outlets within easy walking distance. Croydon is on the doorstep, where you can go shopping, enjoy a concert or show at The Fairfield Halls, visit the cinema, have a meal in one of the many restaurants or enjoy your favourite activities from health clubs and leisure centres to playing golf. Transport is excellent too, with Waddon railway station around a seven minute walk away providing regular services to London Bridge in around 25 minutes. There are also bus stops which provide connections to central Croydon and great cycle connections too – it takes only 10 minutes to ride to East Croydon station and 11 minutes to South Croydon station. The one and two bedroom apartments are ready to move into. They are so spacious and filled with natural light. I don’t live very far away from Parkside Triangle and I drive past it fairly frequently. I have enjoyed watching this development come to life and was delighted to be able to visit and see for myself exactly how it has all turned out and I certainly wasn’t disappointed! This development is special – it really has so many plus points and it is available through Shared Ownership which makes it very affordable, something that is vitally important to first time buyers. It has been thoughtfully conceived and offers well- planned, contemporary homes that have plenty of green open spaces. At the heart there is a stunning communal garden which is the ideal place to take a well-earned break and perhaps meet the neighbours. Inspired by the nearby River Wandle, the winding walkways connect to social and safe play areas. Literally next door is Duppas Hill Park with its acres of green space and lovely trees, as well as a bandstand, cricket pitch and children’s playground, I can imagine having a lovely evening stroll there to blow the cobwebs away!

In fact it offers the perfect lifestyle, especially with hybrid working these days.You can take your lunch break in the park next door, on your balcony or spend time in the pretty communal gardens, and on the days you have to commute then it’s just a hop, skip and a jump to the station – it doesn’t get better than that. Prices for a one bedroom apartment are £82,500 for a 25% share with a full market value of £330,000 and for the two bedders it is £106,250 for a 25% share with a full market value of £425,000.
