Organizations invest in executive education to address pressing needs. Meet strategic objectives. Overcome specific obstacles. Prepare for everything that’s happening today — and for the opportunities that await tomorrow. You’re driven by this urgent mission. We’re driven to help you achieve it. We start by developing a robust understanding of your business and the issues it faces. Then we leverage the full capabilities of the UNC Executive Development team to anticipate and address the relevant capability gaps, push back on assumptions, and shape custom programs to fully address core needs. We work to create cohesion on complex issues across your organization and to become trusted, collaborative advisors. We seek out every occasion to enhance learning and take advantage of emerging technologies, methodologies, and ideas. Take the Fortune|UNC partnership, which enables us to offer courses via flexible, interactive learning. Weekly live online classes bring participants face-to-face in a virtual classroom for discussion, debate, and learning facilitated by distinguished Kenan-Flagler Business School faculty.

We’re also using artificial intelligence to develop sophisticated decision-making skills in a context where massive amounts of data are easily accessible. And we’re creating virtual reality experiences to help executives experience and synthesize complexity. And every step of the way, we’re communicating, sharing, asking, anticipating. The goal? To create a demonstrable impact on your executives and organization. We proactively assess the impact of our program on your leaders’ decisions and behaviors. We’re accountable for everything — because, ultimately, we’re accountable to you.

CUSTOMIZATION THROUGH COLLABORATION.

We all know “partner” is overused business jargon. So let’s say this: We work as an extension of your team with joint decision-making every step of the way. Because we do our best work for your organization when we do it with you — not to you. Our distinctive approach emphasizes dedicated ProgramDirectors — full-time, non-faculty human resources specialists who aren’t affiliated with a specific discipline. They bring both extensive hands-on business experience and a holistic perspective to the learning objectives. Based on their in-depth knowledge of our faculty resources and executive learning principles, along with a deep understanding of your goals, they partner with you to design and develop programs to meet the needs of both your organization and the individual learners.

Our Program Directors have know-how. And know how to help your organization.

Teachers matter THE FACULTY

Designing programs for impact is just the beginning. Equally important is making sure the learning experience itself creates a powerful and lasting impression. That’s why, for each engagement, we assemble a specialized team of world-class professors and facilitators. We draw heavily on UNC Kenan-Flagler’s faculty to ensure that the latest thinking and research is reflected in the classroom. We also pull from a global network of affiliate faculty and experiential learning partners to promote robust and balanced learning. Before they teach, they study — getting to know your culture and how your team learns, communicates, and interacts. So they’re prepared to effectively guide and coach your executives to think critically and creatively, work collaboratively, identify and enhance their personal strengths, and sharpen their underdeveloped skills. It’s a participatory, intensive approach that delivers the kind of honest, critical, and individualized feedback leaders need to achieve breakthrough performance.

Our faculty members guide participants through a proven process in which new ideas are evaluated, analyzed, and adjusted — so participants can discover: does this make sense for my organization? Then, we do it again, with even more new ideas. This is how we teach. Because this is how executives really learn.
