Orient of DC Delivered Coats to Local High School
On November 5, 2022, the Orient of DC delivered coats to Dunbar High School. The hard work, dedication, contributions, and efforts of the Fraters and Loyal Ladies made it possible for them to donate over 100 coats to the community. “ A big thank you to all of the Fraters and Lovely Loyal Ladies who played a part in making this event a suc- cess. You are truly our greatest asset for today and tomorrow. WE ARE THE ORIENT OF DC! ” - Illustrious SGIG, Fred Joyner, 33 ° Paul Laurence Dunbar is the first high school to serve African - Americans in the United States. Dunbar High School defied the odds and in the process changed America. The school ’ s well - educated teachers developed generations of high - achieving African Americans, groundbreakers that included the first black member of a presidential cabinet, the first black graduate of the US Naval Academy and the legal mastermind behind school desegregation.
